Lakes Region Curation (LRC), LLC was established in 2024 to help people on their journey(s) to uncover and/or refine historical projects. Currently, full LRC operations are voluntarily paused due to a temporary physical relocation, however, we are still more than happy to connect with you and see how we may be of service. Our services are available to all and offer creative solutions to help showcase the importance and boundlessness of history.
Over the past 10 years, Lakes Region Curation (LRC)’s founder, Sydney, has worked and interned at various public and private museums and historical institutions. She enjoyed her time at these places but noticed that there always seemed to be side projects involving community members wanting to explore more about their families or schools inquiring about nonexistent history field trips. She often saw these projects get “put on the back burner,” or given to interns, like her! Sydney enjoyed being able to work one-on-one with community members and being able to deliver the information, product, or experience that they were looking for. It was through those opportunities that she saw the potential of offering her passion and skills to the community, thus Lakes Region Curation was born!

Our vision is to revive and rediscover histories and to foster the relationship between people and these histories. We will create products that deepen the understanding of and emphasize the importance of history, no matter how big or small a project is.

We research all possible avenues and take that information to create a product or experience you are happy with. We are with you every step of the way!
OUR FOUNDER
Hi! My name is Sydney and I am the founder of Lakes Region Curation. Years ago, through my high school independent study, I found my love for history in the basement of an old Masonic temple, surrounded by old photographs, letters, and maps. I never expected that that opportunity would lead me halfway across the country to pursue my passion, but here I am! I have a Master of Arts in History: Museum Studies as well as a dual Bachelor of Arts in History and Digital and Public Humanities. Over the years I have had the chance to research abroad, hone skills in collections management and research, design exhibitions, and develop plenty of projects for my community. All of these opportunities lead me to start Lakes Region Curation, LLC in hopes of making history accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
